Organization of the Sierra de Zongolica Olohkan Tomochiwalis announces its
First Training Course
for Health Promoters of the Sierra de Zongolica for women and men of the Sierra
de Zongolica committed to their communities and to autonomous health promotion.
The objective of the course is to acquire and
strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to prevent, attend to and resolve
basic health problems in an autonomous and holistic manner within indigenous
and campesino communities. All of the themes will be explored with a critical
perspective and an antisystemic analysis, prioritizing the indigenous identity
of the participants and recuperating and focusing on traditional knowledge. The
course is based on the principle that the people most appropriate to act upon and
improve the health of a community are the community members for which the
course demands that its participants have a strong commitment towards their
community.
The course is divided into ten learning modules with
ten axes of analysis which will be facilitated through interactive workshops
based on popular education methods:
